Intelligent Wireless Zone Monitor

EMS wireless technology is synonymous with reliability, robustness, integration and ease of use.

With a universal wireless gateway, or Wireless Zone Monitor, it’s been possible to add EMS wireless to virtually any fire system. No locking into protocols, or manufacturers, giving end users and fire system owners a real choice.

The WZM was the initial step in aiding upgrades and extensions to existing system, being easy and quick, as well as cost effective, but now we have something new.

The intelligent Wireless Zone Monitor or iWZM is a real breakthrough, an innovation in new technology, making it even easier to integrate.  It is available, as either a mains version or 24VDC, providing even greater flexibility.

Using the latest SmartCell® know-how and technology, EMS has now transformed the landscape yet again. This next generation gateway uses SmartCell devices, as well as a completely new approach to adding wireless fire, to practically any control panel, addressable or conventional or any protocol.  

The intelligent Wireless Zone Monitor has been developed to integrate into any system with each iWZM supporting up to 16 SmartCell wireless devices of any mix, regardless of power requirements. This allows power hungry devices such as Sounders or Visual Alarm Devices (VADs) to be added to a system without taking power or address slots from the loop.

Each wireless field device has its own power supply, batteries, which meets the requirements of both BS5839 and EN54-25 providing a minimum of three years’ service.

SmartCell technology is based on robust FireCell philosophy, but being next generation, these are all new devices with lots of innovative features, and a bold new look.

  • EN54-23 Visual Alarm certification

The iWZM supports a wide range of compatible SmartCell wireless devices, including the revolutionary BS:7273-4 SmartDoor Controller. Another technology breakthrough from EMS, that provides both flexibility and convenience wherever door control is needed. Each unit is allocated as one of the 16 devices on the iWZM. It only operates, and releases the door, it is installed onto, as and when the fire panel goes into alarm. No more random door closures!
