About EMS

Find out more about our rich 50 year history and the technologies we have developed.

EMS was formed in 1967 as an independent wireless developer, at a time when this technology was in its infancy. Now, after over 50 years of innovation, EMS is acknowledged as the leader and expert in wireless fire detection development.

With the launch of System 5000 in the early 1990’s, this became the system to use when wireless fire detection was needed. System 5000 earned its reputation and grew from a niche solution for heritage properties, to a system which was deployed across all types of buildings.

The introduction of the EN54-25 European wireless standard saw EMS introduce the next generation fire system, FireCell, which took wireless fire technology into the mainstream and is now used in almost any application where a fire detection system is legislated.

Located in Herne Bay Kent, EMS supplies wireless products across the globe, wherever a fire system is required.
