A New Chapter Begins: EMS at Fire Safety Event 2026

13th May 2026

This year’s Fire Safety Event (FSE) at the NEC Birmingham brought the industry together once again, providing EMS with a great opportunity to share our approach to connected fire detection.

A Unified Presence with Kidde Global Solutions

At FSE 2026, we were proud to exhibit alongside our colleagues from across Kidde Global Solutions, bringing together a powerful portfolio of brands under one roof. EMS was joined by:

  • Kidde Commercial
  • AirSense
  • Edwards

Together, we highlighted how shared technology and expertise are powering a more connected and intelligent future for fire safety.

Visitors experienced first-hand how integrated Kidde Global solutions deliver improved performance, reliability, and flexibility.

Showcasing the Next Step in Wireless Innovation

A key highlight of our presence at FSE was the unveiling of the first step in our next-generation product roadmap.

Drawing on decades of wireless expertise, alongside insights gathered directly from engineers and installers in the field, this new direction reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering solutions that are not only robust and reliable – but also practical, intuitive, and future-ready.

Introducing Our New I/O Unit

Among the highlights was a sneak preview of our new Input and Output unit, the first release in this next generation FireCell portfolio and a glimpse into a new era of FireCell wireless technology. The Wireless Dual Input and Output Unit sets the direction for what comes next, anchoring a clear roadmap of ongoing enhancements that expand capability, improve usability, and extend battery life up to 10 years.

While more details will follow, the device is already creating excitement with key advancements. This launch marks a major milestone, reinforcing FireCell’s evolution and maintaining EMS’s principles of scalable, future ready, robust wireless fire solutions.

Beyond the Gate

Our theme for this year, “Beyond the Gate,” reflected more than just a campaign. It captured our mindset as we moved into the next phase of wireless fire detection.

It was about going further:

  • Beyond traditional system limitations
  • Beyond disconnected technologies
  • Beyond expectations of what wireless fire systems could deliver

A key focal point on the stand was our Stargate gateway, which attracted significant attention from visitors. When experienced alongside our VR headsets, it brought the technology to life. Creating an immersive journey that allowed attendees to visualise system capabilities in a completely new way. This combination delivered a truly memorable and engaging experience, reinforcing the power of connected, next-generation fire detection.

FSE 2026 provided the perfect platform to share this vision with customers, partners, and industry professionals, and to have valuable conversations about the challenges and opportunities facing fire safety today.
