The FireCell range of control panels offers a comprehensive selection of sizes and features — from compact single-loop systems with just a few devices to large-scale, multi-panel wireless networks spanning multiple buildings. FireCell is fully scalable to meet any application or challenge.
All FireCell control panels include wireless-ready software, ensuring intuitive installation, seamless commissioning, and full addressability across an entire system or network.
Panel Options
The EMS control panel range includes:
2X-A Control Panel
For smaller systems, EMS offers the 2X-A Control Panel — an in-house development from our parent company Kidde Global, based on a proven fire detection platform and using the XP95 protocol for full FireCell compatibility.
The 2X-A is a cost-effective, fully supported solution ideal for smaller installations. It can operate as:
- A 100% wireless system, or
- A hybrid system with wireless gateways (RLM).
While designed for smaller projects (up to 2 loops), the 2X-A can be expanded to 4 loops and networked with up to 64 nodes/systems via wired connectivity.
Syncro AS Control Panel
Ideal for 1–2 loop systems (wireless or hybrid)
The FireCell Syncro AS is a versatile range of open protocol Fire Control Panels. With proven and mature software at its heart, the Syncro AS range benefits from many years of development and refinement to provide afire alarm control panel range of outstanding robustness, versatility and flexibility.
Available with one or two detection loops, Syncro AS Fire Control Panels are capable of hosting up to 126 wireless devices per loop. With a potential mix of 252 wireless FireCell and hardwired field devices per panel, FireCell is the perfect wireless and hybrid fire system solution for all small to medium installations.
Further expansion can be achieved using wireless or hardwired networking to form larger systems, providing a future proof solution for any installation.
The Syncro AS range is third party EN certified and compatible with the EMS FireCell system and EMS Fusion Radio Loop Module (RLM).
Taktis
Designed for larger and more complex installations with both wired or wireless panel networking.
The Taktis® range of fire detection control panels uses advanced electronics and software to deliver a feature-rich, user-friendly solution for all fire detection and alarm applications. Its 7” colour touchscreen interface provides clear, concise information and intuitive operation, especially during emergencies.
Taktis panels combine a simple user interface with a powerful engineering menu for complex configurations and diagnostics. Each 2-loop slot supports various option boards, all of which can be hot-swapped, and every input and output can contribute to the system’s extensive cause-and-effect programming.
The interface allows extensive customisation for regional variations, added functionality, or branding. Taktis is scalable, supports wired or wireless networking, and can be expanded from 2 to 8 loops, accommodating up to 126 FireCell wireless or hardwired devices per loop. Multiple sensor protocols are supported for maximum flexibility.
The Taktis range is EN-certified and compatible with EMS FireCell and EMS Fusion RLM systems.
Flexibility for Installers and End Users
A key advantage of the FireCell platform is that its patented EMS wireless infrastructure is built on the widely adopted XP95 protocol.
What does this mean?
If you prefer to use a control panel that supports this open protocol — perhaps due to familiarity or manufacturer preference — you can. Most XP95-compatible control panels on the market already support EMS FireCell devices and the distinctive “Hub & Cluster” topology, enabling full addressability and seamless wireless integration.
Before installation, confirm with your panel supplier that EMS wireless devices are supported with embedded software. (Support for non-EMS panels will be provided by the respective manufacturer.)
For older XP95 panels or existing installations requiring expansion or refurbishment, firmware upgrades can often be applied to add EMS wireless compatibility. Check with your panel manufacturer for specific guidance.
Once wireless compatibility is confirmed, you can integrate:
- An EMS Wireless Hub for a fully wireless system, or
- Fusion Radio Loop Module (RLM) for a hybrid wired/wireless configuration.

Each iWZM supports up to 16 wireless SmartCell devices, providing a simple, reliable, and efficient way to add wireless capability to existing or new systems. This makes it an ideal solution for retrofit applications or where a fully wireless extension is required.
