EMS Partners with Elevation Training Academy to Support the Next Generation of Fire & Security Engineers
The future of the fire and security industry depends on the skills, knowledge and expertise of the engineers entering the profession today. That’s why EMS is proud to be supporting the next generation of industry professionals through a new partnership with Elevation Training Academy.
As part of this collaboration, EMS has supplied FireCell wireless fire detection equipment to Elevation Training Academy’s training facilities in Huntingdon and Leeds, giving apprentices access to the latest wireless fire alarm technology as they develop their practical skills and industry knowledge.
Investing in the Future of the Industry
For more than a decade, Elevation Training Academy has been delivering specialist apprenticeship training for the fire and security sector. Its award-winning approach combines technical education with real-world industry experience, helping to develop highly skilled, customer-focused professionals ready to succeed in the workplace.

By providing live equipment for training, EMS is helping apprentices gain valuable experience with modern wireless fire detection systems in a realistic learning environment. This hands-on exposure allows learners to develop a better understanding of system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance before entering the field.
Bridging the Gap Between Training and Real-World Experience
As fire and security technologies continue to evolve, it is increasingly important that training environments reflect the systems engineers will encounter throughout their careers.
By installing EMS equipment within Elevation’s training centres, apprentices can familiarise themselves with industry-leading wireless fire detection technology and gain practical experience that complements their classroom learning.
Beyond supplying equipment, EMS is also supporting the programme with technical expertise. EMS Regional Technical Manager Paul Costello will work alongside Elevation Training Academy to help deliver training on the company’s FireCell wireless fire detection system, providing apprentices with valuable insight from an experienced industry professional.
This combination of classroom learning, practical hands-on experience and real-world industry knowledge helps bridge the gap between training and the workplace, ensuring apprentices are better prepared for the challenges they will face throughout their careers.
Supporting Tomorrow’s Industry Leaders
While today’s apprentices are learning the fundamentals of installation and maintenance, many will go on to become senior engineers, project managers, consultants and business leaders within the fire and security sector.
By supporting their development at the beginning of their careers, EMS is helping to ensure the industry continues to benefit from skilled professionals who understand the latest technologies and best practices. Today’s apprentices have the potential to become tomorrow’s system specifiers, technical experts and decision-makers, making investment in training more important than ever.
“Training and knowledge sharing have always been incredibly important to me. As an industry, we need to continue investing in the development of new talent and giving apprentices access to the technologies they will encounter in the field. By working with Elevation Training Academy and providing hands-on experience with FireCell wireless fire detection systems, we’re helping learners build the practical skills and confidence they need to succeed in their careers. I’m looking forward to supporting their development and helping to inspire the next generation of fire and security professionals.”
