The night of Thursday 28th June saw the culmination of many months of anticipation for EMS Security Group Ltd (EMS) as they won a Kent Excellence in Business Award. The KEiBA awards ceremony took place at Priestifield, home of Gillingham FC and was attended by nearly 500 guests and hosted by former BBC Dragon, Rachel Elnaugh.
The KEiBAs are staged and produced by Kent County Council together with The KM Group to recognise and celebrate Kent enterprise and expertise. Fourteen businesses and individuals were selected from 40 finalists and several hundred entrants, with EMS in the highly contested “Best Science and/or Technology Business” category.
As the moment of truth approached for the award to be made public tensions were high in anticipation of the announcement that was made by Pete Kenyon of Vertex Law, sponsors of the category. As the outcome was made public the team at EMS were overwhelmed by the result, with Chris Mulvihill (Manufacturing Director) and Ray Puttock (Head of Marketing) proudly accepting the award on behalf of the company.
This award is yet another confirmation of the groundbreaking work being undertaken in wireless technology by EMS at its Kent based manufacturing centre and Head Office in Herne Bay.
“Our commitment to lead and innovate in this area has driven us to an enviable position in our business sector and with nearly 50 years of experience and knowledge we are not resting on our laurels as there is still a lot to achieve” – Ray Puttock
We would also like to congratulate the other finalists for this coveted award category – Aquaread and Pitney Bowes Software, both of which are outstanding in their own fields. The full list of KEiBA winners can be found on the KEiBA website
