FIREX 2015 – EMS shows new technology

FIREX 2015 arrived faster than expected, as it always does, and after months of planning the doors opened on the show at ExCel London on the 16th June with EMS ready to show the fire industry what new technology and innovation we have been working on over recent times.

The event saw the pre-launch of FireCell Generation2 which is set for final launch in early 2016. Using the latest technology releases from Kentec and Apollo to augment the already highly successful, and award winning FireCell wireless fire detection platform, visitors were able to see how the system will develop into the next generation.

EMS adopted a unique two sided stand, one dedicated to FireCell and the other to our SmartCell development programmed for release in early 2016. Those that viewed SmartCell were able to register their interest in what will be an exciting and new direction in the way fire systems are moving. As we progress further into the 21st century new technology has to be made available to all users and the old ideas, as to what to expect, need to be challenged.

The SmartCell stand was based on an Art Gallery theme to showcase the new products with wireless devices mounted in glass cabinets with images portraying how the devices might be deployed. These images, alongside some well know art pieces depicting SmartCell, were shown on five large gilt framed monitors giving visitors a real interactive experience as well as a glimpse of what is to come in 2016.

FireCell Generation2 based on the TAKTIS control panel was displayed to show what changes are coming to the best selling and widely used wireless/hybrid fire system, including the unique wireless networking capability.

Both FireCell and SmartCell will provide cloud based services as well as a plethora of new and exciting options not yet seen in the fire world.

Both areas of the EMS stand were busy from the moment the doors opened for FIREX at 10.00 on Tuesday until the event closed at 4.00 on Thursday. Visitors came from all corners of the world not just the UK and there were many new faces on the stand as well as valued customers calling in to see what was new.

Ray Puttock, Director of Marketing, delivered a “state of the nation” update on just where wireless and hybrid fire detection is and how this has been one of the growth areas in the fire markets with many companies now offering a wireless/hybrid solution.

EMS also highlighted strategic partnerships with some of the biggest names in the fire world, TYCO, UTC and Apollo and probably the best known wireless door retainer manufacturer Fireco. An interactive touch screen area was dedicated to showcasing each partner, their products and the EMS partnership.

Ray Puttock stated that “FIREX 2015 was the culmination of many months work but was an essential element in the showcasing of EMS cutting edge developments as well as underlining existing products including IRIS the leading wireless Personal Attack System”.
