EMS Radio Fire & Security Systems Ltd has been providing high security solutions for nearly 50 years and has had a close involvement with British and European standards committees in ensuring systems remain up to date and compliant with relevant legislation.
The EMS IRIS system has been supplied since the early 1990s and is widely used in many applications, from staff protection to asset protection. 2012 has seen the introduction of BS8243 installation and configuration of intruder and hold-up alarm systems designed to generate confirmed alarm conditions. This standard has introduced problems for many manufacturers whose equipment will not meet the requirements of BS8243.
EMS offers an upgrade path to maintain compliance with the standard.
A low cost software update will be required that EMS provides at a fixed price of £135. However, for a limited period up until 31st March 2013 this will be available for £115. All above costs exclude VAT.
Additionally there may be hardware requirements dependent on the handsets in use.
Sites that have 7256 IRIS installed need to ensure they are using 7500/2 (2 button) handsets to stay compliant with alarm verification rules as set out by EN50131 and BS8243.
Sites with other 7000 series IRIS need to contact us to discuss a specific upgrade path to meet the standard.
EMS is very proud of its history in supplying wireless panic alarm systems with many systems being installed for over 20 years.
